With 'Ah, quelle aventure!', BOZAR, in collaboration with Museumcultuur Strombeek/Ghent*, presents a broad ensemble of works by the Belgian artist Jacqueline Mesmaeker. She was born in 1929 in Brussels, the city where she is still active today. Her career as a visual artist only began in the mid-1970s. A few thematic leitmotifs, literary sensitivities and her pioneering experiments with film come together in this exhibition, which is conceived as a walk through her oeuvre.

* Museumcultuur Strombeek/Gent
Since January 2013, Cultuurcentrum Strombeek has been cooperating structurally with S.M.A.K. Under the name Museumcultuur Strombeek/Gent, the Cultural Centre realises projects in which a particular theme is explored in depth. This is done on the basis of S.M.A.K.'s collection, which consists of more than 2,000 works and spans a period of approximately sixty years. The works from the S.M.A.K. collection are supplemented with works from private collections and new productions. Museumcultuur Strombeek/Gent is a unique interregional collaboration with the aim of bringing a new audience into contact with recent art history based on the rich collection of S.M.A.K. and is a concept of Cultuurcentrum Strombeek. It is developed and organised in close collaboration with S.M.A.K.
