U bent van harte uitgenodigd op de openingsavond van de tentoonstelling van Jan Van Imschoot, The End Is Never Near op vrijdag 6 oktober 2023 om 20:00. De kunstenaar en curator Dieter Roelstraete zijn aanwezig die avond.

Jan Van Imschoot staat internationaal bekend om zijn intieme, raadselachtige werken uit de vroege jaren negentig en zijn recente grootschalige, historisch geïnspireerde tableaus. De tentoonstelling stippelt een ruw chronologisch traject uit dat meer dan dertig jaar omspant langs meer dan tachtig doeken van zijn hand. De tentoonstelling loopt tot 3 maart 2024.

Die avond opent ook het Brievenproject Joseph Willaert en Film Fest Gent.

Dear guest,

You are warmly invited to attend the opening night of the exhibition Haegue Yang, Several Reenactments on Friday 21 April 2023, from 8pm to 11pm.

This is Haegue Yang’s first solo exhibition in Belgium. Especially for S.M.A.K., she has reworked her 2011 installation Warrior, Believer, Lover into a new group of mysterious sculptures. The entire gallery has been painted in what Yang calls ‘Quasi-Yves Klein Blue’, a reference to the colour made famous by Yves Klein. The cabinet galleries to the left and right of the central hall are filled with video work and installations, mirroring each other.

That evening, we will also open the exhibition Fabulous Oldest Hits, a survey of the oeuvre of Dutch conceptual artist Pieter Engels (1938-2019).
