NL - De installatie ‘Good Alianore Is Coming’ is een lopend project dat bestaat uit een constructie van sterk geurende honingraten. Anna Boghiguian beeldt geregeld bijen en bijenkorven af. De organisatie binnen een bijenkorf ziet ze als een sociaal-politieke structuur die tegelijk een monarchie en een democratie is. Bijen werken onderling samen maar worden aangestuurd door de koningin, van wie de voornaamste taak de voortplanting van de soort is. Boghiguian legt van hieruit een verband met de revolutie die Egypte de afgelopen jaren doormaakte. Het land maakte een overgang van een monarchie naar een vorm van democratie die in wezen nog altijd autoritair blijkt te zijn. Door werk over bijen en hun kostbare honing te creëren wil de kunstenaar onze aandacht vestigen op de natuur die uit balans is, waardoor de bijenbevolking, die voor ons ecologisch systeem onmisbaar is, met uitsterven is bedreigd.

The installation ‘Good Alianore Is Coming’ is part of an ongoing project to construct highly scented honeycombs. Anna Boghiguian regularly depicts bees and beehives. She sees the organisation within a hive as a socio-political structure that is both a monarchy and a democracy. Bees work together but are controlled by the queen, whose main task is the reproduction of the species. Boghiguian links this to the revolution that Egypt has undergone in recent years. The country has transitioned from a monarchy to a form of democracy that still appears to be essentially authoritarian. By creating work about bees and their precious honey, the artist seeks to draw our attention to the fact that nature is out of kilter, thereby threatening the bee population – which is indispensable to our ecosystem – with extinction.

L'installation ‘Good Alianore Is Coming’ est un projet en cours qui consiste en une construction de rayons de miel fortement parfumés. Anna Boghiguian représente régulièrement des abeilles et des ruches. Pour elle, l'organisation au sein d'une ruche est comparable à une structure sociopolitique, à la fois une monarchie et une démocratie. Alors que les abeilles travaillent entre elles, celles-ci sont toutefois contrôlées par la reine, dont la tâche principale est la reproduction de l'espèce. Partant de là, Boghiguian établit un lien avec la révolution qu’a connu l’Egypte ces dernières années. Le pays est passé de monarchie à une soi-disant démocratie qui, en substance, semble encore autoritaire. En créant des œuvres sur les abeilles et leur précieux miel, l'artiste veut porter notre attention sur une nature déséquilibrée qui menace la population d'abeilles, pourtant indispensable à notre système écologique.
