U bent van harte uitgenodigd op vrijdag 5 april 2024 van 20:00 tot 23:00 op de opening van twee tentoonstellingen:

Sirah Foighel Brutmann & Eitan Efrat Là

In hun eerste museale solotentoonstelling zetten kunstenaars en filmmakers Sirah Foighel Brutmann & Eitan Efrat de dialoog verder die ze eerder aangingen met Chantal Akerman. Ze nemen je mee op een audiovisuele reis tussen België en de Negev/al-Naqab woestijn in Israël en Palestina. Aan de hand van natuurlijke elementen en historische verantwoordelijkheid onderzoeken de kunstenaars de overtuiging ergens thuis te horen.

Tarek Atoui the Shore / a place I'd like to be

Geluid vormt de kern van de artistieke praktijk van Tarek Atoui. Als kunstenaar en elektro-akoestisch componist legt hij vloeiende verbindingen tussen klank, materie, tijd, ruimte en menselijke handeling. Daarbij doet hij niet alleen een appèl op het oor, maar creëert hij ook zintuiglijke, sociale en ruimte-specifieke ervaringen en interacties. In zijn eerste solotentoonstelling in België, brengt Atoui bestaande werken en nieuwe producties samen.

Om 21:00 kan je een performance van Tarek Atoui bijwonen in het museum.

For their first museum exhibition, Brussels-based artists and film makers Sirah Foighel Brutmann & Eitan Efrat created Là, which continues their dialogue with Chantal Akerman and is an audiovisual journey between Belgium and the Negev/al-Naqab desert in Israel/Palestine, examining the conviction of belonging through natural elements and historical accountability.

Tarek Atoui the Shore / a place I'd like to be

Sound is at the heart of Tarek Atoui’s artistic practice. As an artist and electro-acoustic composer, he is known for the fluid connections he makes between sound, matter, time, space and human action. The project at S.M.A.K., the artist’s first solo exhibition in Belgium, brings together existing works and new productions.

At 21:00, you can attend a performance by Tarek Atoui in the museum.

Pour leur première exposition personnelle dans un musée, les artistes et cinéastes Sirah Foighel Brutmann & Eitan Efrat poursuivent le dialogue qu'ils ont entamé avec Chantal Akerman. Ils vous emmènent dans un voyage audiovisuel entre la Belgique et le désert du Néguev/al-Naqab en Israël et en Palestine. À l'aide d'éléments naturels et de responsabilités historiques, les artistes explorent la conviction d'appartenir à un endroit.

Le son est au cœur de la pratique artistique de Tarek Atoui. Artiste et compositeur électro-acoustique, il est connu pour la fluidité des connexions qu’il réussit à établir entre le son, la matière, le temps, l’espace et l’action humaine.
Le projet au S.M.A.K., première exposition solo de l’artiste en Belgique, rassemble des œuvres existantes et de nouvelles productions.

A 21h00, vous pourrez assister à une performance de Tarek Atoui dans l'une des salles du musée.
