Le vendredi 24 janvier 2025 (14h00), Micha Goldberg et Rosie Sommers ont le plaisir de vous inviter à la première présentation publique de leur nouveau projet « Oedipus Le Roi - Theatre au Musée ».
Du 7.Jan.25 au 26.Jan.25, Micha Goldberg & Rosie Sommers seront invités dans la Salle 1 du S.M.A.K. Pendant la phase d'expérimentation de leur nouveau projet, Oedipus Le Roi - Théatre au Musée, ils visent à développer et à déployer leur méthode et leur style de jeu pour remettre en question le « répertoire » en tant que forme au sein du système théâtral. Ils explorent cette question en plaçant Œdipe roi, écrit par le Grec Sophocle, dans un contexte muséal, en le dépouillant de toutes les illusions de la boîte noire. Pour ce faire, ils collaborent avec l'artiste et scénographe Carolin Gieszner et le technicien Freek Willems.
Micha Goldberg : "In this research, we aim to reflect on how we can transform repertoire theater into an exhibition. We want to give repertoire theater a context that allows it to be seen as a timeless object, even though it is not static but a moving, living entity.
In the spirit of the 1960s ‘happenings,’ we also want to challenge the serene atmosphere of the contemporary museum, making it a bit rougher. Theater offers an opportunity for vitality, for chaos, for inspiration. The emotions performed in our version of Oedipus and other Dramas are the same emotions expressed in paintings. In a timeless way, we present these emotions ‘live.’ We imagine that the gift theater can bring to the museum is a form of primal joy, an emotional eruption cutting through the sterile environment of the museum."
