Karlo Kacharava: Sentimental Traveller

In het kader van europalia georgia brengt S.M.A.K. de 'inventieve visuele wereld' van Karlo Kacharava samen in een eerste museale solotentoonstelling buiten Georgië.

Karlo Kacharava (1964-1994) was dichter, kunstschilder en kunstcriticus. Hoewel hij al op 30-jarige leeftijd stierf, liet hij talrijke schilderijen, werken op papier, geïllustreerde dagboeken, poëzie en kunstkritiek na. Werk dat destijds een nieuwe golf van Georgische avant-garde inluidde, en nu nog altijd bijzonder relevant blijkt.

As part of europalia georgia, S.M.A.K. brings together the 'inventive visual world' of Karlo Kacharava in a first solo museum exhibition outside Georgia.

Karlo Kacharava (1964-1994) was a poet, painter and art critic. Although he died at the age of 30, he left behind numerous paintings, works on paper, illustrated diaries, poetry and art criticism. Work that ushered in a new wave of Georgian avant-garde at the time, and still proves particularly relevant today.

Dans le cadre d'europalia georgia, S.M.A.K. rassemble le "monde visuel inventif" de Karlo Kacharava dans une première exposition muséale monographique en dehors de la Géorgie.

Karlo Kacharava (1964-1994) était poète, peintre et critique d'art. Bien qu'il soit mort à l'âge de 30 ans, il a laissé derrière lui de nombreuses peintures, œuvres sur papier, journaux intimes illustrés, poèmes et critiques d'art. Une œuvre qui a inauguré une nouvelle vague avant-gardiste géorgienne à l'époque, et qui s'avère toujours particulièrement pertinente aujourd'hui.
