During '10 years of S.M.A.K. Moves', we are opening up the museum to various partners. Here, they will showcase their work, host activities, or use the museum as a temporary workspace.
An open call was launched by multidisciplinary artist Melis Deveci and rapper/youth worker Mert Ali Topkaya, to which twenty people responded with a shared goal: to bring the neighbourhood into the museum.
We like to think that war, violence, and injustice only happen in a world far beyond our own district. Yet, those who pay attention will certainly see the traces of these issues within the community—through stories, encounters, and lived experiences. This project is a way to collectively resist silence and invisibility. Resistance does not always have to be grand. It takes many forms: it is found in speaking out, in creating, and in simply being present. Take a look inside the many rooms of the neighbourhood and discover the stories that are too seldom heard.
