Joris Van de Moortel and SPECTRA in collaboration with S.M.A.K invite you to an musical brunch in the exhibition HELL ON EARTH
This musical Sunday matinee will open its doors with a warm welcome of ironed mastelles, coffee and tea. Especially for this occasion, the traditional mastel will be renamed elmast * in collaboration with bakery Verleysen. Just what this elmast is will be revealed in smells and colours before it will warm and nourish you - at least for a few hours. The elmast forms the basis of this brunch with musical programme by Joris Van de Moortel and SPECTRA ensemble. All this melts together in the crucible of Joris Van de Moortel's exhibition HELL ON EARTH.
Expect an alchemical cocktail from this rich ensemble where everything seems lost at times. The chef navigates through the apparent disorder, looking for new creations from seemingly random particles.
* elmast is a corruption of mastel, but hereby refers to ‘ le mat “ the ” fool ’ from the Tarot. Mat as ‘ mât “ in French stands for ” mast “ of a ship, the ” ship of fools? ’ omnipresent in the expo HELL ON EARTH. A mast thus. Mast el. Le mat. Elmast.
