At the moment S.M.A.K. houses refugees as part of the exhibition 'Verlust der Mitte'. This summer you can visit S.M.A.K. for a lot of activities with and by refugees.
In 1911, the Belgian state sent sculptor Matton with the clear assignment to map out 'the ethnicities of Congo'. Inspired by this story, artist Athar Jaber will work with clay. He will give two workshops for the resident refugees and the visitors: an introduction to modelling and the making of their own busts.
