Carsten Nicolai connects art with science in his visual work. Under various pseudonyms, he is also active as a sound artist, sometimes in collaboration with others. Nicolai regards sound as something that can be visualized and take spatial shape in terms of images, installations and compositions of mixed art forms. He combines different sensory perceptions and makes them perceptible to both ear and eye.
