The highly ephemeral work by Charl van Ark takes the codes of painting as its starting point, but also encompasses photos and installations. Van Ark creates paintings and art out of almost nothing. He always takes ‘whatever there is to hand’ – no matter how trivial – and amplifies it until it becomes visible.
