NL – ‘Dog’ toont twee mannen in pak. Een van hen houdt een hond aan een ketting. Ze wisselen blikken uit. De camera richt zich op hun uitdrukkingsloze mimiek en op details van hun accessoires, zoals een gouden halsketting, een riem en lederen handschoenen. De traagheid en close-ups wekken een sfeer op tussen werkelijkheid en droom, tussen detail en absurditeit, en dragen bij tot de uitgekiende, minimalistische esthetiek van de video. Ook de doordringende, repetitieve soundtrack heeft een bezwerend effect en accentueert de ‘unheimliche’ ondertoon. Larsson lijkt een haast sadomasochistische relatie tussen de twee mannen en de hond te suggereren.

ENG – In ‘Dog’ we see two men in suits. One is holding a dog on a chain. They exchange glances. The camera focuses on their expressionless faces and on details of their accessories, such as a golden chain around the neck, a belt and leather gloves. The slowness and the close-ups establish an atmosphere somewhere between dream and reality, detail and absurdity, and contribute to the well-planned minimalist aesthetics of the video. The insistent, repetitive soundtrack also has a hypnotic effect and accentuates the creepy undertone. Larsson seems almost to be suggesting a sadomasochistic relationship between the two men and the dog.

FR - ‘Dog’ montre deux hommes en costume. L'un d'eux tient un chien au bout d’une chaîne. Ils échangent des regards. La caméra se focalise sur leurs mimiques sans expression et sur des détails de leurs accessoires, tels qu'un collier en or, une ceinture et des gants en cuir. La lenteur et les gros plans créent une atmosphère entre la réalité et le rêve, entre le détail et l’absurde, et contribuent à l'esthétique sophistiquée et minimaliste de la vidéo. La bande sonore omniprésente et répétitive a également un effet évocateur et accentue la connotation inquiétante (unheimlich). Larsson semble suggérer une relation presque sadomasochiste entre les deux hommes et le chien.
