Stefaan Dheedene allows himself to be led by encounters and chance images and objects, which he then incorporates into documentaries, spatial reconstructions and copies.
These video documents focus mainly on production work and effects. In so doing he plays with the conventions of the documentary genre and attempts to use the art context for cultural stratification or correction in contrast to or, sometimes, closely linked to the art market.
