For the tenth successive year the Friends of SMAK will be organising the Coming People exhibition.
Several of the museum’s curators will make a selection from the final-year students at Ghent’s art schools: the Academy of Fine Arts and St Luke’s College. This exhibition will be held in one of the rooms of the S.M.A.K.. For the first time the Coming People exhibition will run parallel with the Young Artists group exhibition (till 13.08) that was launched a few years ago by St Luke’s College in Ghent and since last year is organised in close cooperation with the Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent. The selected artists of 2006 are: Maarten Herman, Frauke Plaetevoet, Kelly Schacht en Preben Van der Straete.
