The Plinth serves as a platform on which the artist is temporarily given free rein. The Plinth is an open invitation to show your artistic work in the museum. The Plinth does not have a curator and is only subject to the temporary activator. To participate in this project, follow the steps below:
- Bring your artwork with you
- Place the work on the pedestal
- Document the work
- Add to CV
- Leave no trace
The Plinth is both an opportunity and a practical response to the difficult process of achieving ‘recognition’ as an artist. It is important for an artist’s career to be exhibited in a museum. To support these careers, we want to give everyone the same chance. The plinth is yours.
