From the beginning of 2021 several S.M.A.K. guides visited OKAN classes in Ghent. The pupils were introduced to our collection with a focus on language. Starting from Marcel Broodthaers trying to write a poem in the rain, the pupils examined the possibilities and difficulties of learning a new language.
We are often shy about speaking a new language because we are afraid of making mistakes. But aren't our crafted sentences just as beautiful as a collage? At the end of the workshop, all pupils drew a letter that they found visually interesting.
