S.M.A.K. houses an extensive museum archive, containing information on post-war to contemporary art in Belgium and internationally. The history of S.M.A.K.’s origins is particularly well documented, with material on all exhibitions held at the Museum voor Hedendaagse Kunst (MHK) since 1976 and the Stedelijk Museum voor Actuele Kunst (S.M.A.K.) since 1999.
