Experience art with your ears, in your own language, at your own pace, even if you cannot see, hear or read. On Wednesday 28 May, application developer WUK, in collaboration with KAM, Symfoon, S.M.A.K., City of Ghent and Deaf Flanders, organises an inspiring afternoon around the question: how can AI make a difference today for visitors who are often overlooked?
At a time when artificial intelligence is mainly known for deepfakes, chatbots and doom scenarios, we explore how the technology can have a positive impact. In the cultural sector, for example, where inclusion and accessibility are often high on the agenda but difficult to achieve in practice due to limited resources or infrastructure.
During the event, WUK will demonstrate an AI-driven route for blind and visually impaired visitors in the exhibition ‘Painting After Painting’ at S.M.A.K. In addition, there will be speakers who are actively working on digital inclusion, and participants will have the opportunity to see AI solutions in action for themselves.
