Curatorial Lecture: Cédric Fauq

12.May.22
Cedric Fauq

Every academic year, S.M.A.K., Ghent University and Curatorial Studies of KASK & School of Arts jointly organise the series of Curatorial Lectures. On Thursday 12 May at 20:00, Cédric Fauq will discuss the process of making an exhibition, in the run-up to the 'Barbe à Papa' exhibition in Bordeaux. The lecture takes place in the Vandenhove Centre for Architecture and Art, University of Ghent.

In the lead up to Barbe à Papa (Cotton Candy), an exhibition which will open later this year at Capc musée d’art contemporain de Bordeaux, Cédric Fauq will introduce the project and share thoughts and doubts about the process of exhibition-making, following a protocol he’s calling “curatorial vulnerability session”. This should enable conversations around the “atmospheric exhibition”, the celebratory death of display strategies and how he’s trying to make his love for artists compatible with institutional labor.
