Debate: Is painting an everlasting medium?

On the last day of the exhibition ‘Painting After Painting’, we close our series of conversations on the state of painting with a final debate. How is painting kept alive amongst artists - whatever their generation, gender or cultural heritage?
Philippe Van Cauteren (artistic director S.M.A.K.), Emmanuelle Quertain (artist featured in Painting After Painting) and Koen Leemans (curator, 'Pushing the Canvas’, De Garage Mechelen, 2007) will enter a discussion, moderated by Tania Nasielski (curator, writer) on the perennial yet changing status of painting in relation to different epochs and disciplines.
