At the occasion of the Ghent Floralies, you can visit 'Enflowered Art' in Room 1, a floral installation created by artists from the care and education group De Triangel.
The theme of ‘connection’ at the 2026 Ghent Floralies provides the perfect foundation for this collaboration with the care and education group De Triangel. Art connects people across borders. Through this floral installation, De Triangel aims to show that creativity knows no privilege and that talent manifests in many forms.
The artists of De Triangel — individuals with mental or physical disabilities — work with intense focus and dedication on their floral artworks. They approach flowers and plants from a different perspective, free from conventions and artistic rules. They feel, experiment, and create from pure intuition. The hours they invest in their work bear witness to a universal passion that results in unique creations.
Inclusion in art goes beyond simply ‘being allowed to participate’. It is about recognising a different voice, a different gaze, a different interpretation of beauty. These artists bring perspectives that enrich and challenge us, prompting us to pause and consider what art truly is. Their work proves that limitations are not barriers, but rather open new paths to artistic expression.
This art installation is an encounter between different worlds: the tradition-rich world of the Floralies, the innovative S.M.A.K., and the creative power of our artists. Together, we create an experience that moves and connects.
