Speaking doesn’t always come naturally. When words fall short, other languages emerge.
Villa DACart is an inclusive studio where artists work visually, each from their own visual language. In the partner space at S.M.A.K., Emilie Gheysen takes the floor. She translates her thoughts and feelings into a system of maritime signal flags, with each flag representing a letter.
Emilie invites you to work with her on site. What begins as something deeply personal gradually grows into a language that everyone can learn to read.
