Join our walk-in tour and enjoy our ongoing exhibitions featuring works by various contemporary artists and artworks from our collection. Under the expert guidance of your guide, you will discover the many and fascinating layers of contemporary art.
With The End Is Never Near, S.M.A.K. brings its first retrospective exhibition. The expo comprises more than 80 works on canvas and offers an overview from 1996 to the present. His work is built around historical themes from literature and art history. This Belgian painter bridges the gap with artists such as Caravaggio, Tintoretto, Goya and Manet. With our guide, you will learn all about these art-historical references and double layers in the expo.
Sentimental Traveller is Georgian artist Karlo Kacharava's first solo museum exhibition outside Georgia. You will discover some of his most important works and get a fresh perspective on his vast oeuvre that has never been easily compartmentalised.
Kacharava's most famous works are paintings, works on paper and illustrated diaries. He was only 30 when he died, yet he also left behind many collections of poetry, art criticism and cultural reflections. His main legacy is his distinctive style, which paved the way for a new wave of Georgian avant-garde art.
