Opening The Exhibition The Little Catalogue of the S.M.A.K. Collection

Going against the grain, S.M.A.K. first produced a book - the 'Little Catalogue of the S.M.A.K. Collection' - and then an exhibition.

During the summer, the public could already become acquainted with the first part of this exhibition for and by children and youngsters, but now the entire first floor of S.M.A.K. will be transformed into a maze of art.

Which works of art and how they are displayed is entirely up to the 350 participating children and young people. The fact that they had complete control is unique in the museum world.

The exhibition is about looking at and experiencing art, and also questions the whole museum operation. Because children and young people often experience art differently from adults. They take a fresh look at the works of the collection and challenge you as a visitor. You will - and that is the whole idea - go back home with more questions than answers.
