On the occasion of the exhibition ‘40 Years of Chambres d’Amis’, we travel back in time during a debate with those who actually were there.
In this debate, various eyewitnesses who were involved in Chambres d’Amis in different capacities—from residents and artists to other stakeholders—will share memories of the exhibition and its impact on their private lives, the city of Ghent, and the history of exhibitions in general.
Speakers: Chantal De Smet (resident), Dirk Pauwels (staff member/photographer Chambres d’Amis), Bart Verschaffel (criticus), Daniel Buren (tbc) and Jacques Charlier (participating artists)
Moderator: Melanie Deboutte (director of the Roger Raveel Museum and researcher of Jan Hoet's archive, with a particular focus on Chambres d’Amis)
