In the Canvas documentary 'Pop Art: from Warhol to Panamarenko', museum director Philippe Van Cauteren guides us through the exhibition of the same name in S.M.A.K. in Ghent.

On Saturday 19 February, watch the avant-premiere of the documentary "Pop Art: from Warhol to Panamarenko", made by Bertrand Lafontaine and Pieter Verbiest from Canvas. It will be aired on Canvas on 13 March, but you have the chance to see it in the avant-première!

In the Canvas documentary "Pop Art: from Warhol to Panamarenko", museum director Philippe Van Cauteren guides us through the exhibition of the same name in S.M.A.K. in Ghent. What is the social and historical context in which the art movement arose and reached its peak in the mid-1960s? And what can the works of artists such as Andy Warhol, Roy Liechtenstein, but also the Belgian Evelyne Axell tell us today? Philippe Van Cauteren unveils pop art, richly illustrated with unique archive images, and interspersed with the testimonies of three living international pop art legends: Jim Dine (US), Allen Jones (UK) and Martial Raysse (F).
