Fujifilm’s largest photo and video festival in Belgium touches down in Ghent this year on Sunday, 20 September. During this interactive festival, enthusiasts can enjoy a variety of hands-on workshops, inspiring live talks, portfolio reviews, and photo walks.

The Power of Context - Giving Meaning to Your Photos
A photo is more than just pixels and colors: it is a story waiting to be told. Yet, that story is not fixed. The way we look at an image is influenced by the photographer's perspective and what they choose to show or leave out. Furthermore, the meaning of an image can shift depending on its place within a sequence of images, or due to the accompanying caption or headline. In this workshop, we dive into the fascinating world of context and interpretation. We explore how you, as a photographer, can consciously guide the way your work is perceived. By playing with perspective, framing, layout, and text, you give your photos extra depth and power. Come experiment and discover how to tell big stories with small adjustments.
Through personalized trajectories, mentormentor offers professional support for photographers in their artistic practice. By means of reviews, mentorship trajectories, and masterclasses, mentormentor helps guide exhibitions, publications, or the launch of a new project.
Since 2017, mentormentor and S.M.A.K. have been developing projects for psychologically vulnerable groups. Each new trajectory begins with a museum visit. Afterwards, participants are invited to observe and photograph their surroundings. Mentormentor provides feedback and discusses the experiences gained.
