Konrad Lueg was the pseudonym of the gallery owner and curator Konrad Fischer, one of the pioneers of the German post-war art scene. Under his influence, Düsseldorf became the foremost international meeting place for contemporary artists. Prior to founding his legendary gallery in 1967, Fischer enjoyed a short but flourishing artistic career under the surname Lueg, his mother’s maiden name.
