NL – Vanaf 1990 begint Franky D.C selectief ‘Dingen Die Oranje Zijn’ (D.D.O.Z.) te verzamelen, allerlei voorwerpen die hij vindt op rommelmarkten en in zijn directe omgeving. Hij puurt zijn collectie uit en houdt bij wat hem het meeste boeit. Na maandenlange observatie van de collectiestukken, voegt hij aan bepaalde stukken oranje accenten toe. Deze ‘injectie’ noemt hij het ‘auto-logic color vaccin’, het ‘zichzelf sturende kleurvaccin’. Door zijn verzamelstukken voortdurend opnieuw te rangschikken met oranje als katalysator, ontstaan nieuwe combinaties en patronen die een ander licht werpen op de realiteit.
ENG – Starting in 1990, Franky D.C began to selectively collect ‘Dingen Die Oranje Zijn’ (D.D.O.Z.) (’Things That Are Orange’), which involved all kinds of objects that he found in flea markets and in his immediate surroundings. He subsequently condensed his collection retaining the items that interested him most. After months scrutinizing the collection, he added orange accents to certain pieces. He called this ‘injection‘ the 'auto-logic colour vaccine', the 'self-directing colour vaccine'. By constantly rearranging his collection with orange as catalyst, new combinations and patterns emerge that shed a different light on reality.
FR - A partir de 1990, Franky D.C commence une collection sélective de ‘Dingen Die Oranje zijn’ (D.D.O.Z.) (des choses qui sont orange), toutes sortes d’objets qu’il trouve sur des brocantes et dans son environnement immédiat. Il fait le tri dans sa collection et conserve ce qui le passionne le plus. Après avoir observé les pièces de sa collection durant plusieurs mois, il ajoute des accents de couleur orange à certaines pièces. Il appelle cette ‘injection’ le ‘auto-logic color vaccin’, le ‘vaccin de couleur autodirecteur’. Le reclassement permanent de ses pièces de collection, avec l’orange comme catalyseur, donne naissance à de nouvelles combinaisons et modèles qui voient la réalité autrement.
