The exhibition brings together different positions in contemporary art in a thoughtful yet jovial and accessible manner.
No More Boring Art! The Other Side is a sequel to No More Boring Art!, the much-discussed extra muros exhibition by S.M.A.K. in PXL-MAD School of Arts in Hasselt, which had to close its doors prematurely in March 2020 for reasons we all know. The planned events, such as a presentation of the accompanying publication, were also suddenly cancelled.
With this follow-up exhibition, curators Koen van den Broek (visual artist and teacher at PXL-MAD) and Iris Paschalidis (head of the S.M.A.K. collection) are making a new start with a sophisticated selection of top works by world-renowned artists from the permanent collection of the Ghent museum.With works by Valerio Adami, Evelyn Axell, René Daniëls, René Heyvaert, Allen Jones, Johannes Kahrs , Jannis Kounellis, Konrad Lueg, Malcom Morley, Oscar Murillo, Blinky Palermo, Nedko Solakov, Guy Vandenbranden, Patrick Vanden Eynde, Jacques Villeglé and Joseph Willaert.
