From 1 February 2020, you can visit the exhibition ‘Van Eyck. An Optical Revolution’ at the MSK. We are seizing this opportunity to present the work of contemporary artist Kris Martin in dialogue with the oeuvre of Van Eyck. Discover the similarities and differences between this contemporary artist and the 600-year-old-master, as well as the images they have in common. In Belgium, Kris Martin is chiefly known for his sculpture ‘Altar’ in Ostend, which is currently standing beside St Bavo’s Cathedral in the centre of Ghent. At S.M.A.K. you will have the opportunity to see thirty-four works in the artist’s first retrospective exhibition to be staged in Belgium.
