Merci event at Meise Botanical Garden regarding legacies

Plantentuinmeise

Leaving a legacy is not an easy subject. Yet, it all comes down to a simple question: what do you want to pass on, and to whom? S.M.A.K., in collaboration with testament.be, would like to invite you to a special afternoon at the Meise Botanical Garden on Wednesday, June 3rd. Amidst nature, conversation, and expert advice, you will discover how your legacy can become a source of hope.

For those who hold art close to their heart, a museum is sometimes part of the answer. Museums exist thanks to the public and passionate art lovers, something that can never be taken for granted.

S.M.A.K. is dynamic and idiosyncratic, keeping its finger on the pulse of trends in the (inter)national and local art world. Our permanent collection of masterpieces is complemented by exhibitions that address urgent social and political issues, engaging a broad audience in meaningful dialogue.

A special gathering on 3 June at the Meise Botanical Garden

For this reason, we cordially invite you to a special gathering, organised in collaboration with our partner testament.be, on 3 June 2026 from 11:30 am to 12:45 pm at the Meise Botanical Garden – The Green Ark.

A remarkable location that houses an extensive collection of seeds and plants from all corners of the globe. A place of passing on and preserving, which beautifully aligns with the theme we wish to reflect upon together that day.

On the programme: a relaxed and social moment around the table with our team from S.M.A.K., while enjoying some refreshments. We look forward to telling you about our work, our current and upcoming exhibitions, and the artists who are shaping tomorrow’s collection today. This is also your moment: to ask questions, share experiences, or simply catch up with fellow art lovers who, like you, care deeply about S.M.A.K.

Including a cultural institution like S.M.A.K. in your legacy is more than just a financial gift; it is a way to bring about positive change. Even after you are gone.
Jeroen Brugge, relationship manager S.M.A.K.

Legal info session

Following our gathering, testament.be is organising an optional legal info session at 4:15 pm for those who wish to learn more about drafting a will and including a charity. For those who wish to extend their passion for art beyond their lifetime, this can be a valuable opportunity to simply come and listen – without any obligation.
