Nocturne | Master-Class – Citadelic Jazz V | Thursday 4 October 2018

Citadelic1

S.M.A.K. is open until 9 pm every first Thursday of the month. You can enjoy a jazz performance and also take part in our master-classes.

On the first floor you can visit oeuvre, the exhibition of work by Raoul De Keyser. This is the first posthumous retrospective and comprises no less than 120 works.

  • Masterclass at 7 pm by Benedict Vandaele in Dutch.
  • Citadelic Jazz at 8 pm - YOU MOVE, I MOVE, WE MEET? - Peter Jacquemyn + 2 dansers Geraldo Si (BR) & Sofia Kakouri (GR)
Peter Jacquemyn moves easily between the visual arts and music. As a sculptor he assaults tree trunks with axe and chainsaw. His concerts are just as spectacular: with unbridled energy he lovingly wrestles his double bass. But he has also a particular love for improvisation of the body... for danse... For this encounter he invites 2 interesting dancers. Geraldo si Loreiro stands for art of movement. The Brazilian dancer was solo dancer for years at the renowned ensemble of Pina Bausch in Wuppertal. Sofia Kakouri has been focusing on movement research exploring different ways and techniques of creative and physical expression.
  • Citadelic Jazz at 9 pm - AZURE MORTAL - Dirk Swartenbroekx (DJ Buscemi), Rodrigo Fuentealba Palavacino, Peter Verdonck, Ernst Löw.
Azure Mortal is the new vehicle with which Dirk Swartenbroekx (Buscemi, Radical Slave) releases electronic audio experiments: dark ambient and deep drones... dogs hear even more details!) It's inspired by acts like Nurse With Wound, Throbbing Gristle, Ornette Coleman , Steve Reich and Five or Six. Musicians from Belgians jazz, rock and improvisation scene complement the electronic sound with extra colors.
