Come and listen to an inspired dialogue about art, inspiration, ‘Pur, Nur & Fur’ and enjoy a final short musical interlude by Joris Van de Moortel in his exhibition.

Jeroen Olyslaegers (Mortsel, 1967) writes columns, plays and prose. His novels WE (2009, nominated for the Gerard Walschap Literature Prize) and PROFIT (2012) marked his comeback to Dutch literature. In 2014 he received the Ark Prize for Freedom of Speech for his work and social engagement, and the Edmond Hustinx Prize for his theatre oeuvre. With the 2016 novel WIL (WILL), he crowned his trilogy about our derailed times and the position of the individual in relation to the community. The novel signalled Jeroen Olyslaegers‘ breakthrough. The book was awarded the Fintro Literature Prize (professional jury and readers’ jury), the Jam Bookshop Prize, the Flemish Community Prize for Prose, the F. Bordewijk Prize and was shortlisted for the Libris Literature Prize and the Inkt-aap Prize. In 2020, the widely acclaimed novel Wildevrouw was published, followed in 2022 by Willem en mijn wellust , a spectacular novella that elegantly bridges the sixteenth and nineteenth centuries. Olyslaegers lives and works in Antwerp.
