Heritage day 2025: Quiz and play with paint!
On Sunday 27 April, we at S.M.A.K. will celebrate tomorrow's heritage. We will do everything to make you feel at home in our museum. For instance, you can visit all exhibitions that day for free.
How long has it been since you played with paint? During Heritage Day at S.M.A.K., you will have the opportunity to relive that pleasure – and much more!
Quiz tour
In the Painting After Painting exhibition, you will discover how 74 artists paint today. Join one of the exhibition's quiz tours and learn about today's painting in a fun way. Our quiz guide will challenge you to look at art in a surprising way.
For families, there is also an interactive discovery tour available at the reception desk.
Would you rather roll up your sleeves and get to work? Then get painting in The Atelier, where you can make your own paint and experiment with painting techniques. Together with experienced teacher Wien Bogaert, you will help paint the canvases of the pavilion designed by Nico Dockx, VOET Architectuur and Studio Zuidervaart.
Come along and experience contemporary painting in a way you might not have expected.
Discovery tour
A discovery tour will give you extra information about the works of art in S.M.A.K. It contains all kinds of assignments that you can do with the whole family. You will discover the artist in yourself!
