Hind Eljadid, Aya Sabi and Mathieu Charles close Poetry Week at S.M.A.K.

As icing on the cake of Poetry Week, we invite three poets during our Late Thursday. Hind Eljadid, Aya Sabi and Mathieu Charles will each perform a text in the museum halls from 18:30.

They take inspiration from the exhibition currently on display at the museum. Like to follow all three or prefer to jump in between? You can do all that! Afterwards, there will also be a lecture by Hettie Judah on artist mothers (and other parents) and concerts by Citadelic Jazz.

18:30-19:00 Hind Eljadid

Hind Eljadid is an Antwerp-based word artist and writer. She won the literature prize in 2020 and in 2021 she released her debut novel 'KRUIMELDIEF', about her and her sister's lives.

19:00-19:30 Aya Sabi

Aya Sabi writes columns for De Morgen, released the short story collection 'Crumbled Land' in 2017 was voted one of the literary talents of the year by NRC in 2020. In her debut novel 'Half Life', she tells the story of three generations of Moroccan women.

19:30-20:00 Mathieu Charles

Mathieu Charles has an artistically diverse background in theatre, hip-hop, music and word art. He is also active as an organiser, dramaturge and process facilitator in the cultural sector. In his artistic practice, Mathieu focuses on themes of diversity, decolonisation and intersectionality.
