This autumn, in S.M.A.K. you can discover the sound machines, music robots, sound paintings and music boxes of Stichting Logos. They also organise workshops for (grand)parents with children.
In 1968, Stichting Logos was founded by Godfried-Willem Raes. This artistic organisation promotes new music and creates sound art. In addition to music productions, concerts and technological research projects, they also regularly give sound workshops.
Music artist Moniek Darge takes you along to her exhibition of various music boxes. Together, you will listen not only to their sounds but also to the accompanying stories. Music boxes tell us a poetic audiovisual story, built with silent sounds, subtle light reflections and a touch of liberating kitsch as an ironic note. Then you get to work yourself. We try to imagine how our box sounds. Slowly but surely, our ears fill up with sound.
