On Saturday 13 February 2021, four exhibitions will be open to the public on the upper floor of S.M.A.K.

Austrian multimedia artist Oliver Laric shows classical Greek and Roman sculptures that he recreates using 3D technology. In a new animation film, he subjects hybrid creatures to a continuous transformation.

For over twenty years, Denicolai & Provoost have worked as an artist duo. They present an overview of their work and for the first time show their animation film 'HELLO, ARE WE IN THE SHOW?'.

Under the title 'Why Are You Angry?', we are showing a deliberate selection from the acquisitions of the past few years with work by Nashashibi/Skaer, Sofia Hultén, Jacqueline Mesmaeker and Sine Van Menxel, among others.

And in 'La Collection et son Double', we highlight for the first time a selection of artworks from the prestigious Matthys-Colle collection, which the museum partly manages. Central to this presentation is 'Great American Nude nr 45' (1963) by the American pop artist Tom Wesselmann, a work of art that was purchased by the Flemish Community.

The Friends of the S.M.A.K. offer a forum to emerging talent. From 30 January 2021 onwards, Anna Zacharoff will be presenting new work, mainly paintings.
