There is (too) little vocabulary for communicating about sound. That is why we are working on a Sound Atlas, together with S.M.A.K., aifoon, Symfoon and the blind/ partially sighted people of rehabilitation centre BuSo Sint-Rafaël. You are welcome for the premiere on 19 June at 11:00 in S.M.A.K.
Stijn Dickel of aifoon, Kurt Feyaerts, professor of linguistics at KULeuven and several visually impaired participants talk about their experience with the project. You will get a demonstration of echolocation, get to know our 'bruiteur' (a sound maker for TV and film) and you can get to work with our work tables with sound and sound objects.
