Do you find art boring as hell and don't understand all the fuss? Do you think art is something for people with complicated degrees and big black glasses? ART United will prove that art can also be cool rock “n” roll!

The Pukkelpop organisation is working with the arts sector to bring young people into closer contact with art and heritage. The collaboration between Pukkelpop, ten museums, art institutions and supporting partners aims to bring young people into contact with art and visual culture outside the museum walls.

Under the banner of ART United, various art forms will be showcased at different locations on the festival grounds during the festival. ART United: line-up announced The (almost) complete line-up for ART United has been announced. The selected artists were chosen not only for but also by a young audience.

During Pukkelpop, you can attend a concert by A.I.: The Promethean Promise, a self-learning music algorithm that can control multiple instruments simultaneously and knows more music than anyone else in the world. In the Hidden Expo, you can search for hidden works of art by young artists in unexpected places on the festival grounds. MetalYoga is a combination of yoga and – yes – metal. Challenging exercises set to powerful music: that too is an art form. The Ice Cream Guy will try to tempt festival-goers with a special ice cream, while Cloud 9 is an organic cloud that vibrates to the energy of the festival.

Festival organiser Pukkelpop, Chokri Mahassine on ART United:
"One of Pukkelpop's special powers is that we know how to thrill people; first and foremost with music, but it goes further than that. This year, we want to focus on the wonderful cultural heritage that Flanders has to offer. On presentation of their Pukkelpop wristband, festival-goers can visit all participating ART United museums free of charge. Art is rock “n” roll! ”

ART Yard

Last year, the Dôme, the arts dome on the festival grounds, proved to be a fruitful meeting place for museums and Pukkelpop visitors. This year, the Dôme is making way for ART Yard, an even larger site opposite the main stage. Visitors can discover art in many different forms and shapes throughout the festival grounds.

The programme is organised by the Flemish Arts Council and the Flemish Arts Institute, in collaboration with the Flemish Arts Council and the Flemish Arts Institute.

Hannelore Vandezande, Arts and Culture Coordinator at Cera, on ART United:
"A festival site as a testing ground for young people who would otherwise not visit museums and art institutions, allowing them to experience art and heritage. An exciting experiment, we thought at Cera. As one of Belgium's largest cooperatives, we believe in the power of collaboration, across sectors and between partners who, at first glance, may not seem obvious. It is this broad partnership that makes ART United so unique and increases its impact. A perfect match with our cooperative DNA, which is why we at Cera are happy to put our weight behind this project. "
