The Studio is where painting begins for many artists. Here, you can experiment and shape ideas or dream the day away. A studio is more than a workplace: it is a space for reflection or even a laboratory. Painting is also in constant flux. A never-ending process of change and evolution. It is a process that never stops. Step into the Studio and become part of that journey. This is a space where you can experiment, fail, discover and start anew.

The Studio is home to the architectural pavilion Between Pirates and Parrots, which was designed in 2023 by Nico Dockx, VOET Architectuur and Studio Zuidervaart, commissioned by Be-Part Waregem. The pavilion is a meeting place for artists and the public: a creative sanctuary for discussion, workshops and artistic encounters. Inspired by a spider web structure, the construction moves with people and nature like a living organism. Within the tubular structure, canvases are suspended, which are gradually painted during the exhibition period.

Invitated by Be-Part, it was first built in Waregem in 2023 and then travelled to the Kortrijk Triennial, to now settle in Room 1 of S.M.A.K. With a view to sustainability, the materials are always reused.
