- Group visits without a guide must also be booked in advance. For a free visit with your own guide, we charge a €10 speaking fee.

Guided tour Primary schools
On an interactive journey of discovery, your students will explore the fascinating visual language of contemporary art. They encounter sometimes strange, often surprising images behind which fascinating stories lie. Together with a guide, the pupils search for meaning via doing assignments.
- Who: children from 2,5 to 12 years of age.
- For preschoolers, we strongly recommend splitting a class of more than 19 pupils into 2 groups.

Guided tour Secondary Education
With a guide, you tour the museum and get to know current works of art in different exhibitions. Works of art with a challenging visual language are viewed and analysed from their context. Interaction, open communication and formulating your own opinion are central.

Tour University - Higher education
What is your definition of art? How conditioned are your view of the world and the way you look at art? How coloured are your cultural glasses? Could you make this too or does the artist outshine you anyway? And what role do artists, art and museums of contemporary art play today? Lots of questions for an engaging walking conversation at S.M.A.K.

Tour De Brug (also in MSK Gent)
Marcel Broodthaers at S.M.A.K. and Hieronymus Bosch at the MSK? Cross the street and visit both S.M.A.K. and the MSK-Ghent. Together with the guide, you will search for differences, similarities and fascinating stories that connect works of art and artists of the past and present. Is contemporary art really that difficult or does late medieval symbolism turn out to be truly abstract?
