On Thursday, March 26 Kunsthumaniora Sint-Lucas Ghent, Catholic Education Flanders, LUCA School of Arts, Sint-Lukas Academy Brussels, and SMAK will join forces for a new edition of the impulse day. This year, the day focuses on small movements of resistance .

We explore how small, artistic, and educational interventions can be a form of resistance to an increasingly complex, fast-paced, and normative world. Art can be a way to allow for different perspectives, to give voice to dissenting voices, and to subtly but meaningfully create space for open dialogue, imagination, and change.

As a teacher or mentor, you can give students opportunities to make small but significant changes through other forms of collaboration and critical thinking. During this day, we'll provide you with inspiration, concrete methods, and theoretical frameworks to put this into practice with your students.

During this training:

  • discover how art can take forms of subtle resistance;
  • we offer theoretical frameworks that provide insight into the social and pedagogical potential of these 'small interventions';
  • become acquainted with concrete working methods and artistic practices that you can use in the classroom or in projects;
  • meet fellow teachers, artists and organizations looking for similar alternatives.
