Meg Stuart: Guest presentation on Thursdays

Gosie Vervloessem (BE) is an artist working across performance and visual arts. Her research-driven practice explores the relationship between plants and humans, examining how ideas of “nature” are entangled with morality, power and violence. Drawing on popular media, horror fiction and comics, she searches for alternative narratives and more sensual ways of relating to the non-human world. Her projects grow in many directions, without adhering to disciplines, and include lecture-performances, drawing, embroidery, ceramics, digital arts and workshops. Vervloessem holds degrees in Pedagogical Sciences from KU Leuven and Audiovisual Arts from LUCA School of Arts Brussels. Since 2013, she has been affiliated with a.pass as a mentor, researcher and collaborator. She is part of the artistic coordination of wpZimmer Antwerp and an active member of State of the Arts.

Philipp Gehmacher (AT) lives and works in Berlin and Vienna. He situates the body between materiality and language, throwing bodies into motion to make dance and dances visible and available. His walk+talk practice (physical and verbal utterance merging) engages in the desire for thought and affect, the verbal and non-verbal, being expressed simultaneously. His choreographic works include: good enough (2001), incubator (2004), MAYBE FOREVER (2007), dead reckoning (2009), the fault lines (2010), my shapes, your words, their grey (2013), Die Dinge der Welt (2016), The Slowest Urgency (2021), windows, doors, no hindsight (2023), and doors open close (2026). Philipp Gehmacher studied Contemporary Dance and Choreography (London Contemporary Dance School, Trinity Laban) in London in the 1990s and Fine Arts (Sculpture and Space class, University of Applied Arts) in Vienna in the 2010s. He is the programme director of the BA Dance Context Choreography at HZT Berlin and professor of contemporary dance and choreography since October 2022.

Sina Seifee (IR) is an artist and researcher who lives and works between Cologne, Brussels, and Tehran. His artistic practice is structured around a research-intensive and transversal exploration of performative storytelling and image-making, he looks at how epistemologies and knowledge get shaped. His work has been recognized for its commitment to social dimensions of imagination in the intersection of techno-media and globalism, with emphasis on the heritage of zoology in West Asia. He has been presenting internationally at City Gallery, Prague (2022); WIELS, Brussels (2020); SAVVY Contemporary, Berlin (2016); Sharjah Art Foundation, UAE (2018); Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Berlin (2017); Temporary Gallery, Cologne (2019); Hordaland Kunstsenter, Bergen (2019); and Akademie der Künste der Welt, Cologne (2015).

Lucile Desamory (BE) is a visual artist, filmmaker, performer, and musician. She is interested in the frontiers of perception, in the ‘too much’, the falsified – in the spurned narratives. This interest in marginal phenomena always requires changing the medium. She uses painting, collage, photography, film, and her voice. She combines these techniques into larger webs such as installations, films, radio plays and live performances. Lucile often works in collaborative constellations, for example with Antonia Baehr, Sabine Ercklentz, Margareth Kammerer, Glodie Mubikay, Gustave Fundi & Carola Caggiano, among others, making films, theatre plays or musical performances. She just completed a television series that is also a feature film, De Wervelende Wirwar – The Swirling Tangle.

Peaches (CA) is an iconic musician, producer, director and performance artist. She rose to prominence with her 2000 debut The Teaches of Peaches, introducing the world to her sexually transgressive, fiercely assertive and captivating persona. Since then, she has released four more groundbreaking albums, won the Polaris Heritage Prize, and collaborated with artists including Iggy Pop, Daft Punk, Christina Aguilera and Yoko Ono, becoming one of the most influential and genre-defying artists of her generation. Beyond music, Peaches has directed over 20 videos, created immersive installations and performative works, co-curated a photo book of her life, and wrote the electro-rock opera Peaches Does Herself, later adapted into a film screened at more than 70 festivals. The subject of two acclaimed documentaries, she continues to perform her celebrated one-woman show Peaches Christ Superstar. Her first album in over a decade, No Lube So Rude, is released in 2026.

Contagious is a compelling blend of avant-garde experimentation and electronic music, bringing together three distinctive voices: Sabine Ercklentz (trumpet, electronics), Andrea Neumann (inside piano, mixer) and Mieko Suzuki (turntables, electronics). Founded by two innovative figures from the Berlin improvisation scene, Neumann and Ercklentz, together with the skilled and inventive DJ and musician Mieko Suzuki, the trio creates intense and powerful sound worlds rooted in immediate composition and improvisation. Neumann’s self-developed Inside Piano, Suzuki’s turntables and electronic processing, and Ercklentz’s trumpet merge into futuristic structures in which fragile sonic textures and impulses become monumental. Their first album, released in 2019 on Morphine Records, reflects the trio’s fascination with hybrid forms and interconnected life. Contagious performs like a living organism: enigmatic, dynamic and constantly transforming.
