D & A-Punkt

NL – ‘D & A – Punkt’ bestaat uit verschillende onderdelen. Haast automatisch gaan we op zoek naar onderlinge verbanden, maar de kunstenaar geeft ons geen sluitende antwoorden. De functie van de zetel is ons vertrouwd. De documenten lijken een soort toelichting op de sculptuur. Maar aan de sculptuur kan geen heldere functie of betekenis worden gekoppeld. Ze is wat ze is en we mogen haar van de kunstenaar naar believen zelf opladen met betekenis. Pernice rekent op ons talent en onze behoefte om de realiteit om te buigen naar iets betekenisvols. Het is in zijn ogen onze verantwoordelijkheid om zijn werk verder vorm te geven en er betekenis aan toe te voegen.

ENG – 'D & A - Punkt' is an agglomeration of components and intuitively we look for thematic associations, but the artist presents no conclusions. The function of the seat is familiar to us. The documents seem to expound on the sculpture yet clear function or meaning cannot be assigned to it. It is what it is and we have the artist’s permission to imbue it at will with meaning. Pernice counts on our talent and our desire to turn reality into something meaningful. In his view, it is our responsibility to further conceptualize his work and to add its interpretation.

FR - ‘D & A – Punkt’ se compose de plusieurs parties. Nous recherchons de manière quasi automatique des liens entre elles, mais l’artiste ne nous fournit pas de réponses concluantes. La fonction du siège nous est familière. Les documents ressemblent à une sorte d’explication de la sculpture. Mais il n’est pas possible d’associer une fonction ou une signification claire à la sculpture. Elle est ce qu’elle est et l’artiste nous autorise à lui donner une signification à notre guise. Pernice compte sur notre talent et notre besoin de fléchir la réalite vers quelque chose de significatif. Il estime qu’il est de notre responsabilité de donner forme à son oeuvre et d’y ajouter une signification.
