NL - ‘Walking around the dimension of the present moment’ bestaat uit een stenen bank met ingebouwde tv-schermen waarop online tv-programma’s uit verschillende landen zijn te zien. Passanten kunnen op de schermen gaan zitten. In de context van globalisering reflecteert dit werk over de media die een belangrijke rol spelen bij het vormen van onze mening over de verhouding tussen onder meer het globale en het lokale, werkelijkheid en illusie. Fainaru realiseerde deze installatie voor Sonsbeek 9 in Arnhem. Het sluit aan bij ander werk van hem dat hij opzette temidden van het dagdagelijkse stadsleven in bv. een ondergrondse parkeergarage in Kronenburg.
ENG - ‘Walking around the dimension of the present moment’ consists of a stone bench with built-in TV screens on which TV programmes from various countries can be seen. Passers-by can thereby sit on the screens. This work reflects on the important role played by the media in the context of globalization, including their influencing our opinion about the relationship between what is global versus local, between reality and illusion. Fainaru created this installation for Sonsbeek 9 in Arnhem. This links with other of his works which he erected in the thick of everyday city life, for instance in an underground car park in Kronenburg.
FR - ‘Walking around the dimension of the present moment’ se compose d’un banc en pierre avec des écrans télé incorporés proposant des programmes télévisés de différents pays. Les passants peuvent s’asseoir sur les écrans. Dans le contexte de mondialisation, cette oeuvre est une réflexion sur les médias qui jouent un rôle important pour que nous nous fassions une opinion sur la relation, entre autres, entre le global et le local, la réalité et l’illusion. Fainaru réalisa cette installation pour Sonsbeek 9 à Arnhem. Elle rejoint une autre de ses oeuvres qu’il disposa au milieu de la vie quotidienne en ville, par exemple, dans un parking souterrain à Kronenbourg.
