S.M.A.K. & ENGIE win 3rd place for Belgian sponsorship awards

S.M.A.K. achieved third place in the 2021 Belgian sponsorship awards for our partnership with ENGIE. In collaboration with the ENGIE Foundation and the Centrum Leren Werken (CLW) in Ghent, we realise art projects in the form of interactive workshops for young people who have gone through a difficult school course.

Together with DUO²-Ghent, formerly the Centre Learning & Working, S.M.A.K. realises workshop trajectories for young people with a bumpy school path. We challenge young people to react artistically to the works displayed in the museum. This gives them the chance to develop in new fields. Thanks to ENGIE's support, we can realise these projects.

For our sustainable collaboration with ENGIE, which has been running since 2012, we won a great third place in the Belgian sponsorship awards in 2021.

The jury praised: “Together with S.M.A.K., ENGIE Electrabel developed a tailor-made and original program to bring hard-to-reach groups into contact with the world and the work of artists and reinforcing ENGIE’s commitments to societal action”.
