NL – De basis van deze zeefdruk van Barbara Hepworth is lineair: cirkels, halve cirkels, gebogen en ongebogen lijnen. De kunstenaar gaf de lijnen van haar beeld een ‘arty touch’ door de strakke lijntekening met een spontane verftoets te overschilderen. Hepworth was in haar tijd een van de weinige vrouwelijke beeldhouwers tussen mannelijke kunstenaars zoals Henri Moore.

The artist added an ‘arty touch’ to the lines in her image by painting over her rigid line drawing with spontaneous brushstrokes. Hepworth was once one of the few female sculptors among male artists such as Henri Moore.

L’artiste a donné une ‘touche artistique’ en surpeignant son dessin de lignes serrées avec une touche de peinture spontanée.
