Synchro-tafel

NL - Het object ‘Synchro-tafel’ van Suchan Kinoshita is tegelijkertijd een heterocliete sculptuur en een potentieel gereedschap, een mogelijke synchronisatietafel voor een geluidsperformance. Samengesteld uit de meest uiteenlopende materialen en voorwerpen als een cactusplant, een microfoon, een set speakers, een zandloperachtig vat gevuld met een onduidelijke substantie, klemmen allerhande enzovoort, blijft het onduidelijk of dit een instrument is voor een uitvoerder dan wel of het geheel ter beschikking wordt gesteld van de toeschouwer van wie de kunstenares interactie verwacht. Net zo min is het duidelijk of het bruikbare ensemble reeds is gebruikt voor een afgelopen actie dan wel of het klaarstaat voor een actie die nog moet komen. Suchan Kinoshita houdt ervan de grond onder de voeten van de toeschouwer weg te slaan.

ENG - Suchan Kinoshita’s ‘Synchro-table’ is both a heteroclite sculpture and a potential tool, a possible synchronisation table for a sound performance. Assembled from an incredibly diverse range of materials and objects – including a cactus, microphone, pair of speakers, an hourglass-like vessel filled with an unidentifiable substance, all manner of clamps and so on – it remains unclear whether this is an instrument for a performer or the entire object is intended for the viewer, from whom the artist expects interaction. Nor is it evident whether this working ensemble has already been used in a previous action or has been readied for a future event. Suchan Kinoshita likes to pull the rug out from under the viewer’s feet.

FR - L’objet « Synchro-tafel » de Suchan Kinoshita est en même temps une sculpture hétéroclite et un outillage potentiel, une table de synchronisation possible pour une performance sonore. Puisque l’œuvre est composée des matériaux et objets les plus divers – cactus, micro, haut-parleurs, récipient ressemblant à un sablier rempli d’une substance indéterminée, étaux en tous genres, etc. –, il est difficile de dire s’il s’agit d’un instrument pour un exécutant ou si l’ensemble est mis à la disposition du spectateur, que l’artiste invite à interagir. Il est tout aussi difficile de dire si l’ensemble, qui est en état de marche, a déjà été utilisé pour une action antérieure ou s’il est prêt pour une action à venir. Suchan Kinoshita aime que le sol se dérobe sous les pieds du spectateur.
