Concrete Work

NL – Het minimalistische ‘Concrete Work’ bestaat uit een kleine, gebogen gouddraad bevestigd op een blad wit papier. Bij specifieke belichting tekent de schaduw van de draad zich af op het blad en wordt een stilistisch silhouet zichtbaar van een man met z’n hoofd naar beneden gericht. Als gedachtenschets of gematerialiseerd idee biedt dit werk inkijk in de poëtische verbeeldingskracht van Bartolini. Ook belicht het zijn werkmethode waarbij hij in zijn studio losse ideeën concreter maakt door het uitwerken van dergelijk bescheiden, impulsief, soms meditatief ‘studiowerk’.

ENG – The minimalist ‘Concrete Work’ consists of a small, curved gold wire attached to a sheet of white paper. With specific lighting, the shadow of the wire falls onto the page and a stylistic silhouette becomes visible: a man with a bowed head. As a sketch or materialised idea, this work offers an insight into Bartolini’s poetic imagination. It also highlights his working methods, whereby he makes indefinite ideas more concrete in his studio through the elaboration of modest, impulsive, and sometimes meditative ‘studio work’.

FR - Le minimaliste ‘Concrete Work’ se compose d’un petit fil doré plié, fixé sur une feuille de papier blanc. Sous un éclairage spécifique, l’ombre du fil se dessine sur la feuille et on voit la silhouette stylistique d’un homme dont la tête est dirigée vers le bas. Telle une esquisse de la pensée ou une idée matérialisée, cette oeuvre offre un regard sur le pouvoir d’imagination poétique de Bartolini. Cela éclaire également sa méthode de travail, rendant des idées isolées plus concrètes dans son studio en élaborant un tel ‘travail de studio’ modeste, impulsif, parfois méditatif.
